Abstract

Results of elemental neutron-scattering measurements at incidentenergies of 4.5-10 MeV are presented. A comprehensiveinterpretation of the fast-neutron interaction with elemental andisotopic molybdenum at energies of ⩽ 30 MeV is outlined.Spherical, vibrational and dispersive models are considered, including isospin,energy-dependent and mass effects. Existing dichotomies in theliterature are alleviated. The models are vehicles for fundamentalphysical investigations and the provision of data for appliedpurposes.
