Abstract
Extreme automation (EA) is a contemporary model encompassing the hyper-adoption of intelligent IT applications that automate tasks and the mechanism of these applications that operates seamlessly at high speed, at the user and technical level, respectively. The term EA is generally regarded as coined by Peter Adolphs, who suggested a model for representing extreme automation. The model was then adapted by Jinan Fiaidhi, and represents seamless communication between all levels of extreme automation, thus realizing a fully connected and distributed system. Within a connected computing system such as the Internet-of-things (IoT), continuous streams of data flow from connected operations and production systems, so that the system learns and responds to dynamic changes and stimulus.
