Abstract

To address the problem of long convergence time of the conventional Lyapunov vector field guidance (LVFG), a fast convergent LVFG using guidance function is proposed. The necessary properties of fast convergent vector field is illustrated based on analysis of curvature. Then, two guidance functions about distance between UAV and target are constructed to replace guidance parameter. Simulation results indicate the proposed vector field guidance converges faster to the standoff circle no matter UAV initial position is inside or outside the circular orbit. In addition, selection of parameter in the guidance function is discussed to guide design of vector field.
