Abstract

The poor convergence of surface mechanical responses of asphalt pavement has always been an important factor affecting the application of elastic system mechanics. This paper briefly reviewed the analytical solutions of the elastic multilayered system under an elliptical load. Then, the calculation efficiency of mechanical response at the surface was analyzed. Afterward, the integral kernel oscillation of mechanical response was analyzed. And it shows that the reason for the poor calculating efficiency of surface mechanical response is that Bessel function is difficult to converge. Finally, a fast calculation method was proposed through the piecewise calculation of integral and the simple formula of integral with Bessel function. The accuracy and efficiency of the proposed method was evaluated with comparing the initial calculation program. The result shows that the proposed method could greatly improve the efficiency of calculation and control the error within 1%.
