Abstract

Design and construction of a fast and accurate low-frequency impedance analyzer is presented. Main application of the device is in semi-active noise and vibration damping with piezoceramic actuators in the frequency range from 50 Hz to 5 kHz. Constructed device presented here is based on an ARM microcontroller as a control and communication unit and analog part for synchronous voltage and current detection with the auto-balancing bridge sensing method. To comply with requirements on very short duration of the measuring process, frequency-limited-noise driving signal is utilized. Performance of the device was tested on several model circuits and verified with measurements on commercial impedance analyzer Agilent 4294A.
