Abstract

In previous studies by using electrochemical method, the capture material of Ag ion was used cytosine-enriched DNA. For immobilization of this DNA on electrode surface, NH2-terminal was connected with DNA. However, the price for this connection is very expensive. In this study, single-cytosine (SC) was used in place of DNA with a functional group. Three electrode system was fabricated by sputtering Au. The SC was immobilized on working electrode surface, and then this electrode was exposed to a solution with Ag nano-particle and other SC for mismatching cytosine-Ag+-cytosine. Before detecting Ag ion, cyclic voltammetry (CV) and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) was investigated for identification about stable immobilization of SC on surface of functionalized Au electrode. The electrochemical analysis for increasing Ag ion concentration was performed by using square wave voltammetry (SWV).
