Abstract

Presbyopia is a physiological condition associated with ageing, affecting people after 40 y.o., that results in gradually worsening an ability to focus on close objects. Spectacles and contact lenses are the most popular tools used to correct presbyopia, unfortunately their usage may be bothersome. Pharmacological treatment of presbyopia is based on using ophthalmic drops, which by impact on ciliary muscle, changing pupil size and elasticity can improve near vision. Article presents current research status concerning pharmacological correction of presbyopia.
