Abstract

Summary The Yield and Quality Characteristics of some St. John’s Wort (Hypericum perforatum L.) Populations with Different Origins Although agronomy of the Hypericum perforatum L. ( St. John’s Wort) has not been cultivated, it has been found in the flora of Turkey. This study was to research yield and quality characters, relating to cultivation of the populations of the St. John’s Wort which were collected from seven different areas of five cities of Ege region. The ratios of plant height, fresh herbage, top fresh herbage, drug herbage, top drug herbage and dry contents according to yield and the ratio of hypericin according to quality have been examined. At the result of the reseach, the observed plant height ranged from 63.4 cm to 78.1 cm.
