Radio and X-Ray Observations of Abell 1795 Ge, Jing P. ; Owen, Frazer N. Abstract We present new, multiwavelength Very Large Array observations of the radio galaxy 1346+268 in the center of cooling flow cluster Abell 1795. With the high resolution (0.6") observations, the radio source is generally 10% to 30% polarized. We find large Faraday rotation measures, exceeding 3000 rad m^-2^ in places. Using the x-ray images of Abell 1795 from the Einstein database, we have modeled the distribution of the hot, x-ray emitting gas. The large rotation measures could be induced by the magneto-ionized intracluster medium. The field must be typically > 20 microG near the cluster center. If the field is not ordered, it may have a similar energy density as the thermal energy density in the x-ray emitting gas.
