Abstract

The infrared transmission spectrum of cadmium telluride was measured from 30 cm−1 to 4000 cm−1 (333 μ to 2.5 μ) at 290°, 83°, and 18°K. Six absorption bands, in addition to the fundamental transverse optical absorption, were observed and were identified as two-phonon transitions.
