Abstract
This paper describes the construction of a far infrared vacuum spectrometer. A variable depth grating was used as a dispersive medium, and the mounting is of the Littrow type. The detecting element is Golay cell. The spectral range now available is from 200 to 1500 µ in wavelength. The results of performance test and the discussion on the variable depth grating are also presented.
