Abstract

Far-field properties of super-Lorentzian–Gauss (SLG)SLG10 andSLG11 mode beams are investigated from the vectorial structure. Based on the vector angular spectrumrepresentation and the method of stationary phase, the analytical TE and TM terms of theSLG10 andSLG11 mode beams in the far-field are presented. The energy flux distributionsof the TE term, the TM term and the whole beam for theSLG10 andSLG11 modebeams are graphically demonstrated in the far-field reference plane. Far-field characteristics of theSLG10 andSLG11 mode beams are also evaluated by the power in the bucket (PIB).The energy flux distribution and its summands as well as PIBs of theSLG10 andSLG11 modebeams in the far-field are also compared with those of the corresponding Hermite–Gaussian (HG)HG10 andHG11 beams. The physical origin of the difference between theSLG10 andHG10 beams is also analyzed.
