Abstract

It is shown that in crystalline films with a definite lattice symmetry there existone-dimensional bands of bound electron states above the boundary of the continuousspectrum. The intensity of electron reflection near the state of complete transmission oflow-energy electrons is found to have the form of a Fano resonance. We obtain therelationship between the Fano function parameters and physical characteristics of thesystem. The conditions for the electron transparency to arise near the bound state bands inthe continuum are determined.
