Abstract
This is a fantastic book. It is a ‘tour de force’ exploration of fetal, perinatal and neonatal care, with a long list of contributors at the cutting edge of neonatology from across the USA and around the world. In this way it is able to present a balanced and international view on the current management of perinatal conditions. The book is now in its 10th Edition, the first edition being in 1973. This has allowed the editors the ability to look back, as well as forwards, and there is an interesting and informative first chapter on the history and pioneers of obstetric, fetal and neonatal medicine.
