Abstract
Patrick Doyle, a social worker with expertise in recovery coaching, has been working with a family for four years. When we first wrote about their story in 2018, a young man with a serious alcohol use disorder (AUD) was in and out of residential treatment, doing well at times, but not at others. The mother was — and still is — pivotal to the son's recovery. This month, we talked to Doyle about a major breakthrough for the young man, in his early 40s, who finally asked for help.
