Abstract
The climacteric period is a transition period from reproductive to unproductive, where at this time women will experience a decrease in the hormone estrogen. A decrease in the hormone estrogen will cause accompanying symptoms and changes in women. Some of the symptoms and changes that occur during this climacteric period will affect the psychological well-being and quality of life of women. One of the factors that can affect psychological well being is the existence of social support, especially support from the closest people, namely family. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between family support and psychological well being. This research is a descriptive correlational study with a cross sectional design. This research was conducted in Gamping Kidul Village Ambarketawang Gamping Sleman Yogyakarta with a sample of 76 climacteric women aged 45-60 years. Methods of data collection using a questionnaire. The data that has been collected is then recapitulated and analyzed using SPSS. The results showed that there was a relationship between family support and psychological well being of climacteric women.
