Abstract

Background and Aims: Familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) is a common autosomal dominant lipid disorder, causing severe elevation of serum low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) level that leads to premature coronary heart disease (CHD). However, investigation on therapeutic LDL-C target achievement after receiving lipid-lowering therapy (LLT) among FH patients is not well established in Malaysia. This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of FH and the extent of its treatment in Malaysia.
