Abstract

A 41-year-old woman with right papillary thyroid carcinoma underwent 131I therapy (3.7 GBq). Posttherapy whole-body scintigraphy acquired 2 days later revealed a focus of intense activity in the anterior aspect of the left knee. The activity corresponding to the posttraumatic scab. Posttraumatic scab should be considerable a cause of false-positive whole-body scintigraphy findings.
