Abstract

These excerpts from the 1957 (May 27–28) Congressional hearings on fall-out are from the testimony of Dr. W. W. Kellogg and Charles Shafer. Dr. Kellogg is a research meteorologist at the Rand Corporation and a member of the meteorological committee on the biological effects of atomic radiation of the National Academy of Sciences-National Research Council. Mr. Shafer is a meteorologist with the United States Weather Bureau, now on assignment to the Radiological Defense Operations Office of the Federal Civil Defense Administration.
