Abstract

Purpose: To identify factors related to the psychosocial problem of adolescents in the area of Kali Code of Yogyakarta City. Method: This research is a correlational analytic research with community-based cross sectional study design. The study was conducted from July to September 2017 along the riverbanks of Code River in Gondokusuman, Gondomanan and Pakualaman sub-districts. The sample in this study amounted to 173 adolescents aged 12-19 years who were selected by consecutive sampling technique based on inclusion and exclusion criteria that have been established. The research instrument used was respondent characteristic questionnaire, Pediatric Symptom Checklist-Youth Report questionnaire, Child And Adolescent Social Support Scale questionnaire, and environmental questionnaire of residence. This study used univariate analysis, Chi square test, Fisher test and logistic regression test. Results: A total of 11.6% of adolescents in the riverbank area of Kali Code Kota Yogyakarta experienced psychosocial problems. The level of education, parental support and the feasibility of the dwelling has a relationship with the psychosocial problems of adolescents in the riverbank area of Kali Code Kota Yogyakarta. The level of education is the biggest factor associated with the psychosocial problems of adolescents in the area of the river Kali Code Yogyakarta. Conclusion: The adolescent psychosocial problems that occur in the riverbank area of Kali Code Kota Yogyakarta are related to educational level factors, parental support and feasibility of adolescent residence.
