Abstract
Roadside infections can be prevented by clean and healthy living behaviors including personal hygiene and the environment. As is known immune and maternal health after childbirth is lower than normal which is very risky to breed germs that enter in the birth canal. Postpartum infections are also common due to lack of personal knowledge of maternal hygiene about the treatment of the vulva or vagina. In the puerperium. So the mother does not do the treatment of the vulva or vagina. Therefore, during the postpartum period of maternal hygiene should be maintained to prevent complications and infections. This study aims to determine the relationship of knowledge about personal hygiene with perenium wound healing in Kotapinang Village Kotapinang District Labuhan Batu Selatan Regency 2017. This research type was analytic survey with cross sectional approach. The research location was conducted in Kotapinang Village, Kotapinang Sub-district, Labuhan Batu Selatan Regency. The population is all postpartum mothers who live in Kotapinang Village, Kotapinang District, Labuhan Batu Selatan Regency as many as 40 people, and all of them are used as research samples. The data used are primary and secondary data and analyzed by used Chi-Square. The result of the research showed that there are 17 respondents (56,7%) with fast wound healing as many as 10 people (33,3%) and slow wound healing as many as 7 people (23,3%). Good respondents were 7 people (23,3%) who whole wound healing perenium quickly. While respondents who are knowledgeable less amounted 6 people (20%) with the most wound healing is slow amounted 5 People (16.7%) and only 1 person (3.3%) who wound healing fast. After statistical test used Chi-square with 95% confidence level with α = 0,05 diperolwh Asymp 2 sig 0,009 <0,05. The conclusion There is a relationship of knowledge about personal hygiene with wound healing perineum nifas mother. It is recommended for postpartum to seek knowledge about personal hygiene independently through various media.
