Abstract

A person's potential for mental illness is quite high. Every time 450 million people around the world are affected by mental, nervous, and behavioral health problems. Patient recovery is influenced by adherence to treatment programs where patients who adhere to control during the outpatient period are greatly influenced by support from family members because it can minimize anxiety by certain diseases and prevent non-compliance. For Pajar Bulan Health Center, out of 62 patients with mental disorders, only 32 patients (51,6%) routinely make visits to get health services. The research design used was cross sectional. The sample was all mental patients who were in the Pajar Bulan Health Center Working Area of Muara Enim Regency in January-March 2023, totaling 62 patients. The statistical test used is the chi square test. Based on univariate analysis, it was found that there were 30 (48,4%) respondents who were not compliant with taking medication, that there were 29 (46,8%) respondents with poor knowledge, that there were 35 (56,5%) respondents with a category of unsupportive family support, that there were 26 (41,9%) respondents stated that the role of health workers was not good, and there were 28 (45,2%) respondents with access to health services far away. Bivariate analysis obtained the results of knowledge variables with p-value 0,000; family support with p-value 0,004; the role of health workers with p-value 0,001; and access to health services with p-value 0,000. From the results obtained it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between knowledge, family support, the role of health workers, and access to health services with compliance with taking medication in patients with mental disorders.
