Abstract
Stroke is a clinical syndrome characterized by acute loss of brain function and can cause death. Stroke can cause complex physical and psychological problems. The physical problem that is usually experienced by stroke sufferers is paralysis, while one of the psychological problem that is usually experienced by stroke patients is anxiety. This study aims to determine the factors related to anxiety in post-stroke patients. A cross sectional design was conducted among 30 post-stroke patients using quota sampling. Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS) was used to measure the level of anxiety, while Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) was used to measure sleep quality. Chi-Square Test by 0,05 significance values is examined as data analysis. The results showed that there is a relationship between age and anxiety in post-stroke patients (p value = 0,012), there is a relationship between gender and anxiety in post-stroke patients (p value = 0,004), and there is a relationship between sleep quality and anxiety in post-stroke patients (p value = 0,004). Post-stroke anxiety in the severe category occurs mostly in the elderly, female, and has poor sleep quality.
