Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the factors related to the nutrition intake (energy, protein) of children under five with undernutrition. This type of research is analytic observational research with a cross sectional study design. The population and sample in this study were children with undernutrition (aged 24 - 59 months) as many as 72 people. The collected data were then analyzed using spearman correlation. the data analyzed consisted of the number of family members, education level, employment status, level of income, expenditure, knowledge, attitudes, and behavior and nutritiont intake in toddlers with undernutrition. Results of this research showed that family expenditure (r=0.238, p=0.044), mother’s knowledge (r=0.522, p=0.000), mother’s attitudes (r=0.249, p=0.035), dan mother’s behavior (r=0.445, p=0.000) was correlate with energy intake in undernutrition toddler. Family income (r=0.299, p=0.011), family expenditure (r=0.277, p=0.018), mother’s knowledge (r=0.506, p=0.000), and mother’s behavior (r=0.469, p=0.000) was correlate with protein intake in undernutrition toddler.
