Abstract

In the pandemic caused by coronavirus, it was observed that the media were responsible for dissectising information to the population. Objective:  To analyze the impact of fake news in Brazil on COVID-19. Methodology: This is an integrative review, which analyzed Brazilian publications, available in the Databases VHL, LILACS and Periódico CAPES, published between 2020 and 2021. Results and discussion :The main social networks that disseminate disinformation in Brazil are: WhatsApp®, Facebook®,and Twitter®. The content most present in fake News addresses aspects related to inappropriate treatments, demotivating effective measures. In addition, fake news has reached vaccination, generating fear and distrust of the population in the face of vaccine access.   Conclusion :Social networks are great allies of the dissemination of fake news. It is necessary to carry out educational policies, which can clearly and objectively inform the population using different techniques of health education.
