Abstract

Online news and news sources differ from tradional media in two important ways. First, new media are interactive and second they can offer news and content in adaptive ways. This paper focuses on the issues related to these developments and potential solutions. First, the technological developments are discussed, such as automatisation and algorithmic decision-making. Next, fake news, filter bubbels and echo chambers are discussed, including several issues they may cause.
