Abstract
The use of the hypervirial theorem to provide an estimate of the errors introduced by the superposition approximation into integrals over the three body correlation function that arise in transport theory is investigated. It turns out that a high accuracy in the pair correlation function is needed for conclusive results. Various types of integrals that lend themselves to this kind of analysis are considered and rather large errors in the superposition approximation are found.
