Abstract

The experiments have been developed for static tensile loading up to the ultimate load on notched wide laminates. The effect of notch length and angle on the laminates was considered. The numerical analyses have been developed using commercial code to simulate the failure procedure and predict the residual strength of notched laminate. Equivalent stiffness method was developed to modify the traditional progressive damage method. All failure predictions have a reasonably good correlation with the test results.
