Abstract
In this paper, the failure detection mechanism and adaptive fuzzy fault-tolerant control (FTC) strategy have been investigated for a class of single-input single output (SISO) uncertain nonlinear systems with actuator faults (loss of effectiveness and lock-in-place). Fuzzy logic systems are used to identify the unknown nonlinear system functions, and the adaptive control method and the symbolic function technique are employed to compensate the actuator faults, respectively. The stability of the closed-loop system is rigorously proven. Finally, simulation results of a numerical example are presented to further demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed control strategy.
