Abstract

Tribological aspect plays an important role in the design and development of high speed turbocharger used in agriculture product. High speed turbocharger runs at 50000 rpm to 150000 rpm and it’s useful for the improvement of outlet air velocity for fine droplet size of pesticide. In this paper actual cause of failure of shaft and bearing has been analyzed for actual working conditions. Further various engineering aspects for the selection of material at manufacturing stage is also been studied based on their mechanical properties. The results of the study indicate that some modification and changes in mechanical properties shows improved performance of high speed shaft and bearing of turbocharger.
