Abstract

Fahr's disease or idiopathic basal ganglia calcification is a rare neurodegenerative disorder characterized by bilateral intracranial calcification. It commonly manifests in the form of movement disorders, neuropsychiatric and cognitive impairment. We report a case of 72 years old male with Parkinsonian features and endocrine abnormality whose brain computed tomography revealed calcification of bilateral basal ganglia and centrum semiovale. Secondary causes of intracranial calcification were excluded.
