Abstract

This study determined the extent of cultural values in terms of personal values and professional values and the extent of faculty productivity in terms of instruction, research and extension of the faculty of the SUCs in region XII. The relationship of cultural values and faculty productivity was also determined. The descriptive method of research utilizing the correlation analysis was used. This was conducted at the four SUCs in region XII namely: Cotabato City State Polytechnic College, Sultan Kudarat State University, Cotabato Foundation College of Science and Technology and the University of Southern Mindanao. The respondents were the 268 selected faculty members from the four SUCs taken through random sampling method. The researcher-made questionnaire was used in data gathering pertaining to the cultural values and faculty productivity. The study yielded the following findings: The extent of cultural values in terms of personal values is “Very Good” with the mean of 4.34 while the professional values is “Excellent” with the mean of 4.69. The extent of faculty productivity in instruction is “Excellent” with the mean of 4.78, the research function is “Poor” with the mean of 2.23, and the extension is “Good” with the mean of 3.06. The cultural values showed high positive relationship to the faculty productivity with the its mean of .864. The full model regression analysis identified both the personal values and professional values as predictors of faculty productivity. The study concluded that the cultural values influenced the faculty productivity.
