They showed this at the time of the Pearl Harbor attack in December 1941 and thereafter until, in the spring of 1943, the call came for military service. Despite changing official announcements regarding Selective Service and the Enlisted Reserve Corps, men students in American colleges and universities in general kept up creditable standards in their classes. So did the young women who, while not personally concerned about Selective Service or enlistment, were equally subject to the war stress and tension.
