Abstract

Abstract Tipburn incidence, maximum and minimum ambient temperatures, and nutrient levels in outer, middle, inner, and core head sections of lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) were monitored monthly from December 1979 to September 1980. Tipburn incidence was positively correlated with mean monthly maximum, average, and minimum temperatures and was negatively correlated with magnesium, calcium, and boron levels in the inner head sections.
