Abstract

Objective: Optimal operative approach to olfactory groove meningiomas remains a controversial topic. Though the endoscopic endonasal approach (EEA) is a widely accepted treatment for skull base tumors, the specific use of EEA for olfactory groove meningiomas is debated, with variable outcomes and complication rates reported in the literature. Here we review the EEA surgical results for olfactory groove meningioma at our institution including the operative approach, surgical nuances, and outcomes, with a particular focus on factors relating to patient selection which favor EEA over transcranial approaches.
