Factors Influencing Intention of Smoking Cessation Intervention among Psychiatric Nurses

Abstract

본 연구는 정신과 병원에 근무하는 간호사의 금연중재 의도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하고자 수행되었다. 연구대상자는 부산 및 경남지역 소재 8개 정신과 병원에 근무하는 간호사 202명으로, 자료는 설문지를 이용하여 2016년 8월 19일부터 31일까지 수집되었으며 수집된 자료는 SPSS 20.0을 이용하여 t-test, 상관관계분석 및 다중회귀분석으로 분석하였다. 연구대상자의 금연중재 의도는 동기전 요인 중 연령, 결혼상태, 총 근무기간, 병원에서 흡연 분위기, 금연자료 비치 및 금연교육 경험에 따라 유의한 차이를 보였으며, 인식요인과 동기요인인 태도, 사회적 영향 및 자기효능감과 유의한 순상관관계를 보였다. 금연중재 의도에 영향을 미치는 요인으로는 동기요인의 사회적 영향(β=.359, p<.001), 인식요인(β=.264, p=.001), 동기전 요인의 결혼상태(β=.176, p=.035) 순으로 상대적 영향력이 더 큰 것으로 나타났으며 이들 변인의 금연중재 의도에 대한 설명력은 35.0%로 나타났다. 즉, 금연중재에 대한 사회적 규범 및 사회적 지지와 같은 사회적 영향이 높을수록, 금연지식, 금연중재의 행동계기 및 흡연 위험인식과 같은 인식요인이 높을수록, 기혼자일수록 금연중재 의도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 정신과 병원에 근무하는 간호사가 금연중재를 많이 수행할 수 있도록 동기전 요인, 인식요인, 동기요인을 다차원적으로 고려하여 금연중재 의도를 향상시킬 수 있는 교육프로그램의 개발과 적용이 요구된다고 본다.The purpose of this study was to examine factors influencing intention of smoking cessation intervention among psychiatric nurses. The participants were 202 psychiatric nurses in Busan and Gyeongsangnam-do. A self-administered questionnaire was used to evaluate the relationship between intention to implement smoking cessation intervention and premotivation factor (predisposing, information), awareness factor, motivation factor (attitude, social influence, self-efficacy). Data were analyzed with t-test, Pearson s correlation and multiple regression by using SPSS 20.0 program. The significant factors influencing intention of smoking cessation intervention were marital status (β=.176, p=.035), awareness factor (β=.264, p=.001), and social influence (β=.359, p<.001). And these factors explained 35.0% of the variance in psychiatric nurses intention to implement smoking cessation intervention. In conclusion, marital status, awareness factor, and social influence had a significant positive influence on the intention to implement smoking cessation intervention among psychiatric nurses. These finding can be used to develop evidence-based smoking cessation training program for psychiatric nurses for enhancing the intention of smoking cessation intervention.
