Abstract

To the Editor: Matching into a US dermatology residency program is challenging for all medical applicants; however, historically, it has been even more difficult for osteopathic and international medical graduates (IMG).1,2 After the 2020 residency merger, US MD applicants continue to represent the majority of matched applicants.1 However, osteopathic applicants are poorly represented in competitive specialties, with only 4.4% matching into Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education dermatology programs from 2017 to 2019.
