Abstract

SUMMARY The Technical University of Norway (NTH) in Trondheim is the key institution for the production of Chartered Engineers in Norway and has a high percentage of women students by Western European standards. This paper reports on a study of engineering students at NTH in 1982 and aims to pinpoint the factors which direct women towards becoming students at NTH. The results of the study are considered in relationship to national and international studies concerning women and work.
