Abstract
The problems of dump formation are of great importance in planning the mining operations. The most significant factors affecting the selection of site for waste rock disposal are considered, as well as the adaptation is performed for the numerical approach to selecting the dump site in pit design. Such approach was employed in Central Iron Mine of Iran.
