Abstract
An experiment is described in which the main factors contributing to the variability of the serum neutralization test for infectious bursal disease were studied. Significant differences were found between test operators and readers. Antibody levels of sera from vaccinated SPF chickens and the method of preparing dilutions did not affect the variability of the test, but there was a rendency towards a decrease in precision with increasing virus concentration.
