Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors affecting the adjustment to college life of freshman dental hygiene students. Methods: A survey was conducted from June 21, 2021 to June 30, 2021, targeting 132 freshman dental hygiene students at three schools in Busan. The data were analyzed with the SPSS (Iindependent t-test, one-way ANOVA, multiple linear Rregression analysis) program. Results: School system, self-directed learning ability, and major satisfaction with their major were found to have had statistically significant effects on the adjustment to college life of freshman dental hygiene students. Conclusions: The higher the school system, self-directed learning ability, and satisfaction with their majors, the more greater the influence is on the students ability to adapt to college life adaptation.
