Abstract

IN ORDER to evaluate further the role of a single subcutaneous injection of estradiol-17-monopalmitate (EMP) in polyethylene glycolic paste in young tom turkeys (Moreng and Hopwood, 1966) six additional growth trials were conducted to evaluate: (1) duration of treatment, (2) type of diet, (3) repeat treatment, (4) response by sex, and (5) variety response. The study involved six trials conducted during the 1965 growing season, July through December. Based upon previous results (Moreng and Hopwood, 1966) it was concluded that a 30 mg. level per bird of EMP should be utilized throughout the study.
