Abstract

Symmetry-adapted linear combinations (SALCs), which are constructed via the character table of the I h group, are employed as the starting states for a recursion treatment for C 540 to attain its group-theoretical factorization within the tight-binding (Hückel) framework. Factorized characteristic polynomials and related eigenvalues referring to each irreducible representation (IR) are presented.
