Abstract
Parallel and alternate test forms have many uses. These tests are designed to be used interchangeably. The first criterion for interchangeable tests is that they measure the same constructs. Multiple forms of a widely used multiple aptitude test battery were investigated using the multiple groups analysis procedures of confirmatory factor analysis. Beginning with the model confirmed by Ree and Carretta (1994), 6 forms of the battery were tested. Total sample size was 15,120. Results show a consistent factor structure across the 6 forms. When compared to the Form 8a prototype, Forms 8b, 9a, and 9b were found to be highly similar, whereas the factor-variable parameter constraints for Forms 10a and 10b showed them to be less similar. Item-ordering effects did not produce inequality in Forms 8 and 9.
