Abstract
The factorial moments (FM) of the multiplicity distribution are used to study the deconfinement phase transition in heavy-ion collisions. The relation between FM and the partition number, M, results in positive intermittency exponents, ϕq. According to the signatures suggested from certain statistical models, the two-dimensional results of the dependence of ϕq/ϕ2, anomalous fractal dq/d2, Rényi dimensions ℛq and the normalized exponents ζq, on the orders of FM are studied in Pb + Pb collisions at 158 A GeV.
