Abstract

The main objective of the study is to examine the determining factors that influence the educational level ofwomen in Peru during the year 2022. The information used comes from secondary sources and was obtainedfrom the Instituto Nacional de Estadística e Informática Demographic and Family Health Survey for the year2022. The hypothetical-deductive method was used with a quantitative approach, using an ordered logitmodel for the estimation, which was chosen using the information criteria. It is concluded that variablessuch as the age at which the first child was born, literacy, area and mother tongue increase the probability ofbelonging to the highest categories of educational level (higher non-university, university and postgraduate),for example, a woman from the urban area has an average of 1.30 % more probability of reaching the postgraduate level compared to a woman from the rural area, a woman whose mother tongue is Spanish, hasan average of 5.90 % and 0.76 % more probability of reaching the educational level higher university orpostgraduate respectively, compared to women whose mother tongue is native. On the other hand, adolescentpregnancy, age and number of children increase the probability of belonging to the lowest categories of ed-ucational level (initial/preschool, primary and secondary). All of these results are significant at 1 % significance.
