Abstract

This paper provides an analysis of the determinants for each type of innovation - product, process in Micro, Small and Medium (MSMEs) manufacturing enterprises, in respectively Argentina and Ecuador. The study is based on the panel data 2006-2010 of the World Bank Enterprise Survey. The results through the probit model indicate a positive and significant relationship between product, process innovation and R&D, and a positive and significant relationship between the process innovation and qualified employees and quality certification in the two countries.
