Abstract

The introduction of label-less bottles has been proposed as one of the measures to reduce plastic resin consumption for a recycling-oriented society. However, it is not easy to recognize the content of colorless transparent objects in a label-less PET bottle. This study uses mineral water and carbonated water for the content of PET bottle, and clarifies the characteristics of PET bottle shape design that can be easily distinguished between these two types of water. First, commercial PET bottles of both types of water were analyzed to define the features of shape design. Then, this paper explains the experiment of Kansei evaluation on PET bottle samples containing mineral water and carbonated water, and shows the result of analysis on the factors that determines the difference in impression. Finally, this paper will discuss the relationship between the impressions of the contents in PET bottles.
