Abstract

This research work aims to understand the key factors of the success of local products cooperatives in Morocco. To achieve this goal, we leverage the theory of resources and skills, the contingency approach as well as empirical studies on key factors for success. We first conducted a literature review highlighting the key concepts and theoretical foundations of our research question. Then, we conducted semi-directed interviews with the cases selected according to a guide of interview borrowed from the conceptual model contextualized. This contextualization study allowed us to reconstruct the various key factors of success of local products cooperatives, mainly in the Moroccan context. The results of the case studies show the predominance of the role of the state, followed by the importance of interpersonal relations and finally the nature of the local product itself; This is the same thing that allows cooperatives to have a competitive advantage in the market.
