Abstract
The present work reports electrochemical behavior of La2FeCoO6 nano-crystallites synthesized via facile wet chemical sol-gel synthesis process. The X-ray diffraction pattern revealed formation of rhombohedral phase with R3¯c symmetry; lattice parameters being a = b = 5.562 Å, and c = 13.521 Å. The X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis showed presence of La3+, Fe3+, and Co2+/Co3+ ions on the surface of La2FeCoO6 nano-crystallites. The cyclic-voltammetry exhibited pseudo-capacitive behavior. The galvanostatic charge-discharge curve showed specific capacitance ∼831.1 F/g, energy density ∼23.3 Wh/kg, and power density ∼224.9 W/kg at current density of 1 A/g. In addition, La2FeCoO6 nano-crystallites electrode has shown the specific capacitance retentivity of ∼88% for 1000 cycles.
